MX3 and ADS Beam Lines
ANSTO via the Australian Synchrotron is undertaking a program of beamline builds collectively known as the ‘BRIGHT Beamlines’. This program will see an expansion of capability and capacity to the facility which reflects the facilities importance in supporting scientific endeavour in the region. The synchrotron is a 3rd generation light source with a storage ring operating at 3 GeV and 200 mA. There are currently 10 beamlines in operation and the facility is designed to operate 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, ≥ 5,000 User Beam Hours per year.
Pure Piping were engaged to complete critical services for MX3 and ADS beamlines. Each beamline consists of 3 distinct radiation shielding hutches on the synchrotron technical floor. We increased pipework quality to orbitally welded, stainless steel systems. Services include-
- Low conductivity water
- Compressed Air
- Dry Nitrogen
- Experimental gas
